ST. GEORGE, UT, October 13, 2008 -- Aspen Education Group's SunHawk Academy, a licensed residential treatment program for teens struggling with substance abuse and behavioral issues, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Johnson to Director of Admissions. Jeff has worked within Aspen Education Group in many capacities over the last 20 years.
In 1988, Jeff joined the start-up team at Aspen's Mount Bachelor Academy in Prineville, Oregon, where he ultimately became Director of Marketing and Admissions. Jeff then worked at SUWS of Idaho and helped start Adirondack Leadership Expeditions (both Aspen outdoor programs). His most recent position with Aspen was as Director of Special Projects for the Outdoor Division, where he helped train the outdoor admissions departments.
For the past two years, Jeff has been running a consulting business, working with a number of programs around the country doing program development, admissions and marketing training. Concurrently, Jeff served as Executive Director of AMATS, the Association of Mediation And Transportation Services. He helped form this organization to create best practices and standards for the adolescent and young adult transport companies. He will continue to support AMATS in his new role at SunHawk Academy.
Jeff's guiding principal since moving into the admissions field is to: "Never enroll a client who does not have a good possibility of success. The last thing I want to do is set a struggling young person up for failure."
Said Jeff: "I am excited to support a program focused on recovery and treatment. SunHawk Academy is a leader among Twelve Step process programs for youth and I look forward to contributing to this great team and serving our students and families."
Jeff is eager to lead SunHawk's admissions team that includes experienced Admissions Counselor, Carrie Summerhays. To reach Jeff, call (435) 491-0398 or email jjohnson@sunhawkacademy.com.
