Summit Preparatory School in Kalispell, Montana is a private, non-profit, coed therapeutic boarding school for youth ages 14-18 with emotional, academic and behavioral challenges. The program combines a college preparatory high school curriculum with a professional, relationship-based treatment program. Located 40 miles from Glacier National Park, the campus's 520 wooded acres and geographic location allow easy access to an abundance of outdoor recreational activities, while remaining close to the airport and health care services.
Summit Prep is licensed through the State of Montana, is a member of NATSAP (National Association of Therapeutic Boarding Schools) and our academic program is accredited by the State of Montana through the Office of Public Instruction (OPI).
The Clinical Director oversees the clinical milieu, and manages a team of therapists who provide individual, group and family therapy for their assigned students. Duties include: (1) General clinical oversight of the program including: therapy groups, specialized groups, community meetings, milieu-based interventions, family workshops and retreats, clinically-focused experiential activities, and crisis intervention; (2) Administrative supervision of therapists including: hiring, scheduling, assuring effective clinical documentation, leading departmental meetings, and completing performance evaluations; (3) Clinical leadership including: clinical supervision, training, supporting therapists with complicated clinical cases, and clinical team building; and (4) Maintaining an effective working relationship with parents, outside referral sources, and other departments as part of our collaborative interdepartmental approach. This includes attending directors meetings, being a regular liaison with referral sources, and assisting the Admissions Department with potential enrollments.
Applicants must possess a current license as a Master's or Doctoral level Clinician and must be license-eligible in Montana within one year of start date. Minimum of ten years experience working in a clinical setting and five years doing adolescent and family work. Must have managerial and clinical leadership experience as well as experience in the areas of program development and crisis management with a demonstrated ability to provide professional psychotherapeutic services for adolescents and their families with psychosocial, emotional or behavioral problems. Experience with experiential therapy and substance-related conditions preferred.

Licensed Clinical Therapist
Summit Preparatory School is a private, non-profit, therapeutic boarding school for youth ages 14-17 with emotional, academic and behavioral problems. The program combines a college preparatory high school curriculum with a professional, relationship-based treatment program.

Summit is licensed through the MT State Board of Private, Adolescent, Alternative, Residential or Outdoor Programs (PAARP), accredited through the Council on Accreditation (COA), a member of the Child Welfare League of America and NATSAP (National Association of Therapeutic Boarding Schools). Our academic program is accredited both through the Office of Public Instruction in the state of Montana and NAAS (Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges).
The Therapist provides clinical leadership for an assigned team of staff comprised of the therapist, two bachelor prepared residential staff and an academic liaison (e.g. leads multidisciplinary team meetings; facilitates team clinical interventions). Each team is assigned approximately 10 students. The Therapist also provides individual, group and family therapy for the students on their team; facilitates a weekly across team group on a clinical theme (e.g. adoption, grief, anger mgmt); participates in family workshops; attends/participates in team outdoor experiential trips (up to 4 times a year); and shares emergency on-call for the organization with the other therapists.
Minimum of a master's degree in a behavioral health services related field with at least two years' experience (four or more years preferred) working with adolescents in a counseling and/or human service related field. Prefer experience working in a residential setting. Must be licensed or license eligible in Montana (license must be obtained within approximately one year of start date). Prefer Licensed Addiction Counselor.
Demonstrated ability to provide professional psychotherapeutic services for adolescents and their families with psychosocial, emotional, or behavioral problems. Experience working with chemical dependency problems a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective clinical leader with co-workers and must be a team player. Love of the outdoors a must. Required to participate in four backcountry team trips annually.
Director of Operations
World Languages Teacher
Private, non-profit therapeutic boarding school is seeking a fulltime High School Foreign Language Teacher with a secondary High School endorsement (ie. English, Music, Business, etc). Primary teaching responsibilities will include offering 3 levels of Foreign Language. For full-time employment, candidate must be able to offer other courses in secondary endorsed subject. Potential of part-time employment if candidate is only licensed to teach foreign language. Projected start date is August 22. Summit operates on a year round, block schedule with 4 periods per day. Responsibilities include teaching 3 classes each block with a prep period. Teachers have 1 block off (3 months) each contract year which rotates seasons. Academic day begins at 7:30am and ends at 2:15pm. Teacher would also serve as Academic Representative on an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team.
Valid State of Montana License with proper High School endorsement to teach Foreign Language as well as secondary endorsement in other area or evidence of ability to secure proper endorsement. Experience teaching and specifically working with at risk youth preferred.

Primary job responsibilities would include maintaining school library materials and coordinating the InnerLibrary Loan program. Full-time Male Night Residential Counselor
Responsibilities include supervision of students with attention to student safety and adherence to program guidelines. Bachelor's degree (psych or education related) with additional training or demonstrated experience working with adolescents preferred, but will consider waiving this requirement for individuals with demonstrated skills in working effectively with adolescents.
