On August 14, Summit Prep hosted its first ever triathlon!

We had 7 individuals and 3 teams (both students and staff) complete a quarter mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 3 mile run. The race took place on-campus, utilizing the pool and trails around the school.

Staff and student volunteers manned water stations and checkpoints, and the school community cheered on participants during the event and as they finished up in front of the school. Despite a little rain and a little more mud, energy levels and Summit Pride were visible on all! We finished off the event with awards and an ice bucket ALS fundraiser.

One student noted "Biking uphill was a metaphor for Summit. The uphill part was a struggle but once you got to the top it felt great and the downhill was easy. That is, until you were at the bottom again... "
