StreetLight Now Offering Educational Solutions to Female Residents

StreetLight's mission is to eradicate child sex slavery through a 3-tier strategy of awareness, prevention, and aftercare. In November of 2009, StreetLight began the purchase of a facility to house twenty-four underage, female victims of child sex slavery, aged 11-17. The StreetLight safe house stands as a beacon of hope where rescued victims of child sex slavery can live for an extended period of time and will receive specialized faith-based counseling, normal interaction with a caregiver in a family setting, comprehensive healthcare, nutrition, clothing, educational and career based counseling, and the healing they need to rebuild their future. Brenda Baer, Distance Learning Director at Blueprint states, "It truly is a blessing to be able to walk alongside the girls saved by StreetLight. It's our small way to join the fight to end child sex slavery."

This partnership provides the opportunity for both StreetLight and Blueprint to establish a long-term relationship reinforcing continued educational opportunities for students and the larger community. Online education provides a flexible solution for girls that have been saved from the horror of child sex slavery. "Often times these girls have gaps in education and need to be able to access quality education from a safe residential center, states Jennifer Blackstone, Curriculum Director at Blueprint. " Even in crisis, students need the stability and success of learning. Hope High School Online and Blueprint Academy can bring this to the residents of StreetLight. Education is always important in a young persons' life, but for those that have faced an uphill climb in life already, education is even more critical."

The NCA and AdvancED accreditation covers Blueprint Education educational courses in all six North American accrediting regions as well as internationally. It is certified as a Distance Education Provider by the State of Arizona. Hope High School Online and Blueprint Academy are Blueprint Education programs.
