St. John’s Military School
St. John’s Military School, established in 1887, is an Episcopal boarding college-preparatory school for boys in grades 6 through 12.
In addition to accepting boys seeking a military school because they wish to be challenged, St. John’s also accepts boys found too disruptive by other schools. They offer a student/teacher ratio of 12:1, a strong athletic program, and a variety of activities and clubs that provide the opportunity for spiritual, intellectual, moral, and physical development, in a disciplined and structured environment.
Although St. John’s maintains its traditional ties with the Episcopal Church, boys of all faiths are welcome to enroll and all are provided with an “active Christian environment.” At St. John’s, “boys turn into men” and begin to understand the philosophy behind the school; “the busy mind is the learning mind.”
