Squaw Valley Academy is an international co-ed boarding school at Lake Tahoe, California. Since 1978, SVA has accepted and transformed hundreds of students through its unique blend of providing a college-prep curriculum and daily mountain sports. The school's enrollment has grown over the past several years, and last spring founding Headmaster Donald Rees announced plans to build a new classroom and dormitory on campus.
The 12,000 square foot, solar-powered classroom and dormitory building hosts four classrooms, four offices, twenty-two dormitory rooms, laundry facilities, and common areas. The new building will accommodate an additional forty-four students, is equipped with wireless Internet, and is scheduled to open this month.
Squaw Valley Academy is proud of each graduating senior's record of earning an average of three four-year college acceptances. The Academy offers substantial financial aid and is accepting applications for Summer School 2011 and for the 2011-2012 academic year.
Squaw Valley Academyis a college prep boarding school emphasizing academics and sports (especially skiing). Attention is paid to the development of the whole child and it is open to students who have successfully graduated from a more restrictive boarding school.
