Spring Ridge Academy is proud to be celebrating our 15th anniversary as Arizona's premier therapeutic, college preparatory boarding school for girls. At Spring Ridge Academy, we continue to reflect on our proud past as we embrace the future. We celebrate the success stories of our past graduates and the inclusion of new therapeutic modalities and protocols. There is a bright future ahead at SRA.
New Therapeutic Intensives:
During our yearly review, our staff identified the five most relevant issues confronting teen-age women both in and out of treatment. Although, SRA has addressed these issues in both individual and group therapy, we felt a need to broaden the experience. We have created five three-day therapeutic intensives that combine psycho-educational information with a variety of modalities including art therapy, music therapy, equine therapy, outdoor adventure and psychodrama. All five intensives run simultaneously five-times a year, providing the opportunity for all students to attend all topic areas.
The intensives include the following topics:- Relationships and Dating
- Chemical Dependency
- Body Image
- Anxiety and Depression
- Trauma
We completed our first set of intensives in March 2012 with rave reviews from our students. They are looking forward to the next set of intensives.
To support our new intensives, we will be providing webinar sessions for current and alumni SRA parents. Each webinar will cover one of the intensive topic areas. Please join us for our webinars titled "An Afternoon of Answers" that will include a discussion and question/answer session with SRA therapists. Registration information will be available soon.
SRA Incorporates EMDR Protocols by Gary Hees, SRA Clinical Director:
In an ongoing effort to continually improve every aspect of our programs, SRA has integrated Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into our extensive list of therapeutic protocols. EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that works to correct maladaptive beliefs and emotional content caused by exposure to traumatic events. We are very excited about this new addition to our treatment program. All SRA therapists have received training and are finding great success in the use of EMDR.
Finally, Spring Ridge Academy would like to say congratulations to the young women and their families who are graduating from our program this May. We are so proud of their individual achievements and wish them much happiness and success. These students have made a lasting impression on our staff, and even though they will be leaving our school, they will always be a welcome part of the SRA family. Good luck, graduates!
Spring Ridge Academy is an all-girl, therapeutic boarding school serving students ages 13 - 17 in grades 9 - 12.
