Spectrum College Transition Program in Scottsdale, Arizona officially announced today that the Board of Directors has decided that the program will become an all male “Aspie” Fraternity House begin-ning in August 2013. We have found that our very intelligent and unique students want a typical col-lege experience, as opposed to a “program” for students with Asperger’s Syndrome. The students, in unison, put together a proposal for our Board’s consideration to become a fraternity house. The stu-dents will be naming their new fraternity house in August, and we will post their choice on our web-site.
All of our staff are required to have therapeutic backgrounds in either counseling or therapy to better support the daily struggles of our students, as well as have experience working in residential treat-ment centers and/or wilderness programs. Our program counselor, Wendy Moyer, will be a perma-nent staff member starting in August. We are very excited about this new direction!
