"Spectrum 101", a residential summer transition program, is made up of two - 4 week Sessions, focusing on helping students learn how to prepare for their entry into college life. A transition program to prepare for college means learning how to manage themselves more independently and students will gain skills and information that is invaluable as they move into college life. Our residence is set up to accommodate the sensory sensitive needs of our particular population. Our students will participate in many social activities that will include educational and fun outings designed to build community and social skills. Some of these activities include a trip down the Salt River, golfing, movie nights, hiking, swimming, theatre, bowling, cookouts, and much more!
Weekly themes will teach executive functioning, sensory integration, social thinking
skills, perspective taking, and cause and effect. Plus, they will learn self advocacy, organization skills, and executive functioning. Life Skills will include cooking, time management, laundry, cleaning, balance diet, exercise, hygiene, and stress management.
