Soltreks Appoints Gordon As Director

Soltreks, Inc., a Two Harbors, MN outdoor behavioral healthcare program, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Gordon as Director. President and Executive Director Lorri Hanna said, "Mark Gordon is outstanding and his expertise will continue to nurture our company." Mark will be overseeing the day-to-day operations and programs at Soltreks as a key member of the management team.

From 1997-2007, Mark worked closely with Soltreks owner's Lorri Hanna and Doug Sabo as both a colleague and advisor.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark recalled the 2005 Soltreks Strategic Planning Retreat he led thinking "Wow, this program is really something special" and became convinced he wanted to become part of the team. At the end of a yearlong sailing sabbatical in southern waters with his family, Mark was invited to join the team as their new Director.

Over the past 25 years, Mark has worked with both non-profit and for-profit organizations in leadership management, training, and risk management serving clients of all ages and abilities.

For 11 years, Mark effectively facilitated programs for a residential treatment center in northern Minnesota where he was instrumental in its inception of a wilderness program, including the development of policies/procedures to meet industry and state licensing standards. While at this facility, he served in positions as Program Coordinator and Director.

Mark also helped the Northland Chapter of the American Red Cross develop Wilderness First Responder training and facilitated high level rescue training for State Parks, and rural and urban fire departments.

Lorri, Doug, and the Soltreks staff are delighted and honored to have Mark join their team.
