Please join us in welcoming Kristina Urquhart to the Solstice East family! As a trauma and loss trained board-certified art thierapist, licensed professional counselor, certified level-1 yoga instructor and experienced horseman, Kristina brings a wealth of experience to our team.

With the addition of Kristina to the Solstice East family--along with a group of amazing, highly-experienced staff members--we are excited to announce that Solstice East will be enrolling its first students the week of October 15th. Please send all admissions inquiries to Kyle Gillett at the contact information provided below.

Kristina's Bio and Contact Information:
Kristina received her Masters Degree in Art Therapy through New York University and is a Board Certified, Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC), and Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) in the state of North Carolina. Kristina specializes in working with adolescents through trauma, grief and loss and has worked in a wide variety of settings, including adolescent inpatient, New York and North Carolina public schools, nursing facilities, therapeutic boarding schools and abroad in Tanzanian children’s homes.

Kristina believes in the power of expressive arts therapies to reach clients who have limited vocabulary, difficulty verbalizing their emotions, experienced trauma, or just enjoy being creative. As an artist herself, Kristina believes making art is both healing as a process and can increase awareness of the self and others. As a certified Yoga instructor, Kristina enjoys bringing healing to a physical level through the self-awareness that yoga and guided meditation offer. An avid animal-lover, Kristina is a strong believer in the healing powers of animals, and is currently training her 90 lb retriever-mix Winnie to be a certified therapy dog through the Delta Society. When not working, Kristina enjoys reading, writing, homesteading, archery and horseback riding with her husband where they live in Candler, NC.
