Given market changes resulting from current economic conditions, the Board of Directors and management of Social Learning Environments have determined that consolidation of our therapeutic services at Rancho Valmora into High Frontier and Cramer Creek would be in the best interest of the program and of our students served.
As with many other programs in the industry, SLE programs have been operating under capacity for the past year. In order to maximize, and even increase, the therapeutic and clinical service delivery, and efforts will target the transition of and consolidation of Rancho Valmora students and some clinical personnel into the already substantial clinical presence at our other programs.
The management decision to consolidate was rather certain as we were faced with the eventuality of having to minimize staff (and resulting services) at each of the three programs, or choose to expand services with two of the three operating. Of course, the real difficulty was the determination as to which program would be consolidated with others. The decision to consolidate Rancho Valmora was based upon current and projected student numbers, the relative ease of transferring students and chosen staff, and our ability to maintain treatment continuity with existing students.
The financial realities of running programs with consideration of full staffing and simultaneously limiting overhead costs will be significantly improved through this move. While this consolidation will enhance the prioritization of our "mission", this decision is obviously tempered with regret for the loss of employment for so many dedicated and valuable support staff members. The Board looks forward to a time when the economic conditions will allow the reestablishment of our suspended services at Rancho Valmora.
Social Learning Environments will work diligently to be consumer friendly with all of the families, students and educational consultants involved. Efforts to promote the treatment continuity of each specific student are already in progress.
