Sober College students, participating in a unique young adult focused drug rehab program, are now making the sport of lacrosse a summer feature of the college's fitness program.

Lacrosse is played on a field roughly the size of a soccer field and each team has nine players and a goalie. Often referred to as the "fasted game on two feet", lacrosse is a hard hitting sport that demands speed, endurance, agility, and intelligence. "Playing sports like lacrosse enables Sober College students to feel better about themselves and get their endorphins pumping. Clinically speaking, exercise has been proven to help prevent relapse in those that are struggling with a chemical addiction, states Academic Director, Dr. Ken Niemann."

Sober College students are scheduled to play in the lacrosse summer league games held at Loyola Marymount University. Summer league is informal and a great introduction for athletes who want to try out the sport.
