January 2011 marks the completion of five years of operation and 598 students and families having come through our doors.
Mindi and I want to thank each and every member of the strugglingteens.com community that has been with us through all of our successes, but most importantly, our challenges.
We want to thank our current staff and all those that have served as staff under our vision and direction.
We all know the work and dedication it takes to get a program to five years and beyond and we recognize that we, alone, could not make this happen.
As I look back at all the crazy press releases I have sent out, we sure have had a lot of fun along the way, but have also accomplished the development of an amazing program that includes:
- A full partnership with Woodbury University that allows for on-site courses and can provide a Certificate of General Studies worth 15 college credits for six months in treatment.
- A relationship with the Southern California Neuropsychology Group that allows for access to Neuropsychological screening for all our students upon intake.
- A fully developed fitness program that has led our soccer team to victory over the U.S. Navy team and our lacrosse team to victory over UCLA.
- A fun-filled and active environment that finds our students skydiving, surfing, trapezing and so much more.
- A vocational offering that has provided numerous jobs for our students and the opportunity to restore classic cars to run on 100% biodiesel.
- An addiction studies program, in partnership with the Institute for Chemical Dependency Studies that has trained hundreds of addiction counselors.
Once again, thank you and I look forward to the next five years and beyond.
