Sixteen Benchmark June Graduates

Sixteen students from Benchmark Young Adult School walked across the stage at Redlands East Valley High School Auditorium on Friday, June 15, 2007 to proudly receive their High School Diploma from Redlands Adult School.

The graduates are: Kathleen Jackson, Randy Lafferty, Jerald Kahn, Aaron Rudner, Josh Cruz, Matt McManus, Taylor Gallagher, Jared Quirk, Thea Howkins, Jacob Gandelman, Scott Buckner, David Phillips, Nathan Marks, Darya Brutoco, Beatrice Tremeroli, Carl Sade, Jonathan Haney and Alex Schwartz.

Aaron Rudner was honored with the $500 AERY Scholarship (Adult Education in Redlands and Yucaipa), based upon is academics, attitude and perseverance. He also won the Outstanding Student Award, which provides lunch with the Principal of Redlands Adult School, and was given based upon Aaron's attitude, determination and his academics.

Randall Lafferty was honored with the $500 Jack Binkley Scholarship, which was also awarded due to Randy's academics and attitude in overcoming his personal obstacles. Randy was also a class speaker during the commencement ceremony.

Benchmark Young Adult School awarded a deserving Redlands Adult School student with the annual $500 scholarship. The student who was selected has shown steadfast determination in reaching her educational goals, despite her personal set-backs.

Each graduate has faced many obstacles throughout their high school education, including learning differences and alcohol/drug abuse, and each has struggled to make tremendous strides to achieve their goal of graduating.

Benchmark is residential transitional living school for students 18-28 years of age, with a mission to prepare young people to become capable of attaining their own level of emancipation and independence. Our established curriculum includes an exclusive combination of dynamic emotional growth classes, traditional educational options, independent living and relationship development situations.
