Silverado is pleased to announce Scott Heaton as the new Program Director. Scott brings a wealth of talent and experience that is the perfect fit for Silverado Academy students. Scott has been part of the Silverado Team in the past serving as a Therapist a few years ago. The timing of Scotts return is particularly well suited as Silverado Academy begins its 6th year of treating successful students following a well-balanced program.
Scott's various skills and particular dedication are essential to the therapeutic environment at Silverado. Scott holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and has been licensed as a marriage and family therapist for over 15 years. He is a firm believer in the whole therapeutic environment which begins the moment a student enters Silverado Academy. Scott incorporates the parents, into the process, for the most effective treatment. Children being accountable for themselves leads to a successful family life and Scott maintains high expectations in a caring environment. His proven methods will help lead Silverado Academy's already impressive staff, to the next stages of therapeutic boarding.
Scott is the co-author and creator of the Accountable Kids Book and parenting program. Accountable Kids Has Received nationwide recognition and earned endorsements from New York Times bestselling authors such as Dr. Laura and Dr. Stephen Covey. Accountable Kids Provides a framework to help Parents and children develop accountability and responsibility within the home and create strong and lasting family relationships.
Scott is a husband and parent. He worked with children in a variety of settings including correctional facilities, therapeutic wilderness programs, residential treatment facilities, and therapeutic boarding schools. He joins Silverado with a complete and eager staff who are active in many clubs and activities here on campus. Silverado is proud to welcome Scott back as the Program Director.
Silverado Academy is a clinical boarding school for troubled teens age 13-18.
