Shortridge Academy welcomes the appointment of Frank Anthony to the position of Admissions Officer. Frank has been helping with admissions since January but his journey with Shortridge started much earlier.

Frank knows first hand what the experience of Shortridge Academy feels like as a parent, since his daughter is a successful graduate, and is currently in our post grad transition program. While talking about his new role, Frank said: "As I meet with families who are visiting Shortridge, I recall how confusing and isolating the wilderness and next school process was for us as a family. While they are well advised by professional educational consultants and wilderness therapists, it can be a bewildering process that is usually uncharted territory. But the consistent theme is that the parents we work with are devoted to doing the best they can for their children, and I will honor that commitment with an open approach to helping them decide whether Shortridge is the best fit for them."

Prior to an early retirement, Frank worked in the Telecommunications/Cable TV industry serving in senior executive roles with privately held firms that ultimately merged with major public companies including Comcast and Microsoft. He also devotes much of his time to Camp Agawam in Maine, which has long embraced many of the same principles of positive youth development and character growth that underpins the Shortridge philosophy and theory of change. Frank has neen a member of our marketing committee since 2009, and actively participates in the life of our school, including serving as lifeguard for our Surfing Club. He lives with his wife and daughter on the NH seacoast. He is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and earned his BA in Psychology from Amherst College.

With Hannah Marriotti's departure and Christina Smalley transitioning to a clinical counseling role, Frank will serve as the key admissions point of contact at Shortridge, coordinating parent tours and managing referrals from educational consultants and others. Look for Frank, his great smile and sense of humor at the regional and national conference circuit.

Shortridge Academy is a year round, college preparatory, therapeutic boarding school for young men and women ages 14-17 years old at enrollment, grades 9-12.
