Spiritual Awareness Causes
Physical Transformation in Troubled Teens

Shepherd's Hill Farm is in part a Christian boarding school for troubled teens, but it is so much more than that. Students who arrive at Shepherd's Hill Farm often have feelings of anger, depression, hatred, apathy, and other negative emotions. However, when they graduate from Shepherd's Hill Farm they leave with self-confidence, a sense of pride, joy, and a feeling of love. Psalm 16:11 tells of the fullness of joy received by walking in the path of life. Once these kids are removed from the darkness and pointed toward the light, they are able to choose which direction they want to go. Not all students accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. The students are given the opportunity to hear, to respectfully ask questions, to get their questions answered, and to make their own choice. The greatest gift they can receive is a gift from God. Students do not always receive the free gift of salvation, but when they do they leave Shepherd's Hill Farm knowing who they are in Christ. Peace and self worth are derived when someone understands they are a child of God by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. John 1:12 tells us that "To all who receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."

Even visible improvements are seen in the kid's physical countenance. Students who once struggled to look anyone in the eye are now able to smile and laugh. Shepherd's Hill Farm provides students the opportunity to enjoy nature and the beauty of God's creation through hikes and camping trips. Students and people in general, need to get away from the hustle bustle of everyday life and refocus. Many students carry a newfound confidence that shows even through their posture. Students have actually thanked their counselors and/or teachers for giving them a consequence. Discipline provides comfort, safety, and ultimately joy.

Shepherd's Hill Farm is a Christian Boarding School; outdoor residential program located on an 80 acre wilderness facility for troubled youth ages 13-17 struggling with a variety of negative behaviors. We are equipped with a completely devoted Christian staff that uses biblical principles in a loving authoritative community environment.
