Shadow Mountain Recovery

John Tucker has joined the Shadow Mountain team as Director of Admissions.

John Tucker comes to Shadow Mountain Recovery with eighteen years of experience. A graduate of Denison University, John graduated with honors double majoring in Philosophy and Psychology. With a love of the mountains and recognition of the transformative power of the wilderness, John moved to Idaho to become a Field Instructor. He then moved on to co-found an alternative boarding high school for boys.

Serving in positions such as Field Director, Academic Director, and Admissions Director, John has shown his dedication to work with families through out his career. John enjoys mountaineering, golf, skiing, Ohio State Buckeye Football, and spending time with his wife, and their young daughter.

In addition, Shadow Mountain Recovery is proud to announce the opening of our new Sober Living Home for men in Denver, Colorado. Our five-bedroom home will offer a step-down recovery program for men transitioning from primary care. The Shadow Mountain team in Denver will provide therapeutic and recovery counseling, which includes one on one therapy twice a month. Residents will also participate in planned recreational outings to enhance the sober living experience; such as skiing, fishing, camping, sporting events, and concerts. Residents will enjoy a private room, complimentary gym membership, jacuzzi hot tub and a start-up welcome bag that includes grocery money.

Shadow Mountain Recovery is a privately owned recovery community for young men (17-30) who are impacted by substance abuse or addiction. We teach the Twelve Steps within an activity based learning model with excellent academic and clinical resources to support success. Located in Taos, NM and Denver, CO Shadow Mountain Recovery is a small, student focused environment-A Recovery School...because LIFE is in session!
