Shadow Mountain Academy, a recovery school for young men ages 17-25, is pleased to announce good things related to our steady growth and ongoing healthy development as a program.
June 6, 2008, we celebrated one year of successful work with young men (ages 17-25) and families. In early July we had the great pleasure of welcoming Ann Bruno M. Ed. to our school in the role of Program Director. On September 11th Shadow Stone Mountain's Executive Director, Dana Taylor delivered a new baby daughter, Elizabeth McNeil. In addition, we are delighted to round out our admissions and business development efforts with the addition of Jim Myklebust MA and Trilby Hoover.
Ann Bruno has always been an integral part of SMA as she has facilitated all of our family workshops since we opened our doors. We at Shadow Mountain now have the pleasure of seeing Ann on a daily basis since she became our Program Director at the beginning of July. Ann brings with her a wealth of experience in the addiction treatment field, over 20 years to be exact. Ann began her career in this industry as a family therapist for a world-renowned treatment program in the southwest. She has since worked for other national addiction centers, including serving as an Executive Director of another residential community for young adults. In addition, Ann operated her own private practice for many years prior to moving to Taos. She can relate to those suffering from addictions as she has been in her own recovery process. Ann holds a BFA in art education from Illinois State University and a Masters of Education in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Arizona.
Jim Myklebust and Trilby Hoover join Crisjon Solano in admissions and business development. "Each brings a unique skill set to work with referring professionals and families looking for the right next step for young men impacted by substance abuse and addiction". Please visit our website
