I hope that 2011 is off to a great start for you and that you are all getting settled in after the holidays. Sequel Youth and Family Services of Paint Rock Valley (formerly Three Springs) wanted to take a few seconds of your time to share with you some exciting news about our program enhancements and additions to our program.
The Paint Rock Valley campus continues to offer residential services to adolescents ages 13-18, however, we now only serve males. While we continue to offer the services to which you have grown accustomed, we wanted to highlight the new additions to our programming:
Paint Rock Valley has worked to modify our programming away from just a behavioral model to one that incorporates more clinical services and one that helps better prepare students for the "real life" experiences they face when they leave our program.
Our Length of Stay is now a minimum of 90 days and we work to tailor the length of stay for each student and family that we serve based upon the family's needs. While some of our kids will be with us a shorter length of stay, we still work with students who need a longer term option as we have in the past.
We continue to have Licensed Clinicians who work with our students and their families. Each student has weekly individual sessions with their clinician and they attend four weekly group therapy sessions each week which are specific to the needs of that particular student.
Our students now attend school a full academic day allowing them to earn 8 total credits per academic year. Core classes are provided along with electives that include: adventure based programming through our Low/High ropes course, climbing tower; EAGALA certified work with horses; Life Skills, Photography, Horticulture, Sociology and Creative Writing to name a few.
Our parent company, Sequel Youth and Family Services has just updated their website. Please take a minute to visit the site at www.sequelyouthservices.com and learn more about our parent organization.
Paint Rock Valley's website is in the process of being updated and will be available for you shortly so please keep checking our site for the upcoming changes at www.tsi-paintrock.com
Paint Rock Valley has started off 2011 with the use of Best Notes. Best Notes is an electronic medical record with linkages so that parents and referral sources can see progress reports about their students. We are excited for this addition as it allows us to keep you better informed about the particular student you have referred to us.
Paint Rock Valley has also started a new day school called Deer Valley Academy for students who are diagnosed with Asperger's and fall within the high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders. If appropriate our residential students who have Asperger's will be able to attend this day school and obtain a specialized education specific to these issues along with the therapeutic component Deer Valley Academy will offer.
We thank you for taking the time to learn more about the changes at Paint Rock Valley and look forward to talking with you further. Please feel free to be in touch with any questions you may have. You may reach me at the following numbers: 256-776-2503 or 256-288-6550.
