Tammy Behrmann, owner and founder of Sedona Sky Academy, a specialized academy exclusively for adolescent girls ages 13-18, has announced the promotion of Rodney Adams, MS, to Executive Director.

Adams previously served two years as Program Director for the program for struggling teens. He has vast experience in substance abuse, mental health and behavioral health treatment, and uses an eclectic approach to therapy, understanding that each individual is unique. At Sedona Sky, Adams focuses on helping girls understand their self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, which often lead to behaviors with undesirable consequences.

Adams earned his bachelor's degree in psychology through Northern Arizona University and his master's degree in counseling psychology through Alaska Pacific University. He is currently finishing his doctorate in counseling psychology at Northern Arizona University.

"This is an exciting time for Sedona Sky Academy," said Behrmann. "Rodney has been an integral part of this program since its inception, and is the perfect person to help lead us to new heights."

Behrmann will maintain involvement with Sedona Sky Academy, but promoted Adams to ensure consistency and outstanding leadership while she manages this program and her other property for adolescent boys in neighboring Utah, Ashcreek Ranch Academy, she said.
Behrmann and Adams plan to travel to meet with education consultants and professionals as a way of introduction.

Located just outside Sedona, Arizona, Sedona Sky Academy is a fully licensed and accredited residential treatment center serving adolescent girls ages 13-18 who may be experiencing family or peer conflict, academic failure, self-esteem issues, drug or alcohol use, and more. With 30 acres set in idyllic year-round weather, program highlights include a world-class horsemanship program, competitive athletics, rigorous college-prep academics and SAT and ACT scores above the national average, and outstanding family workshops and peer mentorship programs.
