It was with mixed and strong emotions that we say goodbye and bid good luck to Ben Pearson, MSW, LCSW.

After 14 years and an incredible journey, Ben will retire from Second Nature and wilderness therapy. Ben will begin working with young adults in a local residential program. We are proud of Ben's development and of his journey from field instructor, to graduate student and assistant therapist, to becoming a professional therapist with a significant following in this industry and now to clinical director.

Ben is authentic and respected for his therapeutic style and passion. His profound commitment to his students and their families is similar to his commitment to his own family. In the field, Ben gave of himself and was known for his time and attention. Out of the field, Ben was dedicated to his wife and five children as well as those in his community. We will miss the social side we've shared with Ben, including wake boarding, seeing his intensity on the basketball or tennis court and sharing a good laugh during a friendly poker tournament. We will most miss his professional presence and his contribution to the treatment team. We will miss his influence in the lives of the families we serve, the staff we train and his part in the growth of Second Nature.

We wish Ben and his family all the best, professionally and personally.

Second Nature is therapeutic wilderness programming for adolescents and young adults. The Second Nature programs are nationally recognized as one of the leaders in wilderness therapy. Second Nature was founded on the idea that struggling adolescents and their families deserve quality clinical treatment, combined with sensitivity and compassion.
