Second Nature is excited to announce the launch of its newest program, Second Nature 360, under the leadership of Jen Murphy, L.P.C. and Beth Laughlin, M.A. Second Nature 360 is designed to support adolescents, young adults and their families as they transition from treatment to home or to independence.

Transitions can be difficult by nature, as there are almost always elements of disruption and change. As the student and his/her family prepare for the transition from treatment, anxiety is often running high. Mental Health professionals and Educational Consultants increasingly recognize that transition support is vital for families during this time. Second Nature has developed a three-month, three-phase program designed to assist the student and family at this important juncture and to help the family safeguard gains made during treatment. Second Nature is excited to provide this important option for referring professionals and their client families.

Second Nature 360 will be lead by two dynamic and passionate professionals. Long time Second Nature Therapist, Jen Murphy, L.P.C., will be the Program Director and Lead Transition Therapist. Jen has been an integral member of the Second Nature team for the last five years and has been a wilderness therapist for ten years. Before embarking on her extensive wilderness therapy career, Jen worked in a wide variety of community based settings. She has extensive clinical experience working with a multitude of populations ranging from clients dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues to families coping with grief and loss. Jen's passion has always been her work with families. She is excited to work directly with families during this crucial stage of the treatment process.

Second Nature 360 Director of Development, Beth Laughlin, M.A. has been working in the Special Needs industry for over eleven years in a variety of counseling, education and business development capacities. Most recently Beth worked with Vive, Inc. as the VP of Marketing and Customer Relations. Beth holds a Masters degree in counseling and has worked with families in a variety of educational settings in the U.S. and abroad. Beth is excited to work closely with Educational Consultants and client families during the enrollment process as the new program is launched. Additionally, Beth will work on continued development of quality program services.

At Second Nature, we are fully committed to meeting the evolving needs of our students and families. Second Nature views support from our referring professionals as integral to the treatment and post treatment process. Through the development of Second Nature 360, we look forward to continuing our work with you as we assist families through this important step in their journey.
