As 360 continues to grow we look forward to keeping you updated. We first want to take this opportunity to thank Jen Murphy for her great work with 360 families these past three years as she moves on and takes the next step in her career. Jen has been instrumental in developing the 360 model and has been with us from the beginning. We will miss her work with families and having her as part of the team. We know our paths will continue to cross and we look forward to working with her in a different capacity in the future.

Jen plans to continue working with her current 360 families so she will be with us for the next couple of months but will not be taking on new 360 clients. Jen is excited to see her early contributions with 360 continue to grow through the years.

As Jen transitions we look forward to welcoming two therapists, Jeffrey Peyton and Daryn Plancher, to the 360 team. Both Jeffrey and Dayrn along with Jen Rapp-Sheridan are looking forward to working with you and your families as their child transitions home from treatment. Jeff and Daryn's brief bios are below.

Jeffrey Peyton, MA, CADC-II - 360 Transition Specialist

Jeff has been working with young people and families for more than 25 years in the fields of music and higher education. Since 2005 he has committed himself to the healing and empowerment of adolescents and their families as a counseling professional. Jeff is known for his calm and caring personal style, while also providing clear direction and feedback in support of the goals of the family and the client.

Jeff was born and raised outside of Fairbanks, Alaska, and has spent much of his life in the Pacific Northwest. He learned to cross-country ski at the age of 6 and had his first overnight solo backpacking trip at the age of 9. As a result of his personal experience with the power of wilderness as a young man, Jeff chose to enter the counseling field as a wilderness therapist. A licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC-II), Jeff joined Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Programs in Oregon in 2005 as a lead therapist. Jeff is recognized for his astute clinical skills and treatment interventions with adolescents, and his areas of specialization included substance abuse and addiction, co-occurring disorders, developmental trauma (including adoption), depression and low self-worth, and clients who struggle with emotional and behavioral self-regulation. In particular, Jeff is passionate about supporting young men and women as they access their innate capacities of resilience to move into young adulthood with honesty, integrity, self-efficacy and confidence.

In 2007, Jeff accepted the position of Family Therapist at Catherine Freer, a position he held for five years prior to coming to Second Nature 360. Jeff utilizes a collaborative and strength-based approach with parents, clients, and referring professionals, finding solutions and strategies the entire family can access to move forward and create change. With the ultimate goal of family reunification, Jeff was actively involved with parents in aftercare planning, developing family resources, referral relations, relapse prevention planning, the creation of home contracts, as well as more clinical issues of communication, parental relationships, family systems, conflict resolution and challenges to effective change. While at Freer Jeff was instrumental in creating the parenting curriculum and resources, and was a frequent guest speaker and presenter on topics of interest to parent groups and industry conferences.

Dr. Daryn Plancher, MSW, PhD - 360 Transition Specialist

Dr. Plancher is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Her credentials include a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University, a Masters Degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Psychology from The California School of Professional Psychology. Originally from New York Dr. Plancher currently resides in Los Angeles, California.

After receiving her Social Work Degree Dr. Plancher began her career working at Bellevue Hospital in NYC. There she was treating an indigent population most of whom were struggling with the disease of addiction. From a Social Work perspective Dr. Plancher felt very confident. She had been trained to view presenting problems from a theoretical orientation that focused on the person in his or her environment. Dr. Plancher very much appreciates this perspective and at the time wanted to expand her knowledge base to include an intra psychic understanding of people. Drawn to psychological complexities, specifically of addictions, Dr. Plancher chose to return to graduate school and further her studies. It was then she chose to move to the west coast.

While working toward her Doctorate in Psychology she completed a phenomenological dissertation which focused on men's expressions and experiences of intimacy. Continuing to be interested in addictions she had an opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of disorders and people in distress. Currently, Dr. Plancher has 20 years of clinical experience working with families, groups and individuals. She approaches her work with compassion and encouragement. It is Dr. Plancher's belief that recovering from any illness is a progressive and reflective process which entails behavioral and emotional adjustments, the integration of which hopefully culminates in true and lasting change.

Please join us in welcoming Jeffrey Peyton and Daryn Plancher to the team and wishing Jen Murphy well in her future endeavors.

Second Nature 360 is a wrap-around service geared to helping adolescents and young adults successfully transition from treatment to home, college, or independence.
