Second Nature 360 is pleased to announce the addition of Hawk Dykes to the 360-mentor team. 360 is a three-month program designed to help young people successfully transition from short-term or long-term treatment to home, college, or independence.
Samuel "Hawk" Dykes, grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and now lives in Sisters, Oregon. Hawk brings with him extensive experience in wilderness therapy, having spent two and a half years in the field at Second Nature Entrada as a Senior Field Instructor. Prior to this experience Hawk also worked for a number of years as a social worker mentoring adolescents and young adults with severe mental illness and substance abuse.
Through his experience, Hawk has developed a mentoring style that is both compassionate and directive. His ability to engage the therapeutic process proactively and creatively when addressing entrenched patterns of behavior has become the cornerstone of his success with his clients. Hawk believes that, "it is through assisting others in discovering their own motivation for helping themselves that lasting change occurs." He stated, "There is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing the 'light bulb' go off and watching someone begin to realize 'they can do it!'"
"We are very fortunate to have Hawk join us as the newest member of the 360 team and look forward to you working with him as he supports your clients transitioning home from treatment," said Jen Murphy, 360's Program Director.
