Saving Teens Collaborative To
Help Match Scholarships
To Worthy Families

Saving Teens recently launched a formal initiative for the industry relative to scholarships and matching them with needy families.

There are many special needs programs that have offered scholarships or reduced rates either through Saving Teens or on their own. These scholarships represent a great way to quickly help worthy families in need. The missing ingredient is the evaluation of the families from a financial perspective as well as insuring that there is a good match therapeutically.

Saving Teens already has a formal methodology for evaluating families from a financial and social perspective along with a network of pro Bono IECA consultants to assist in the matching of family to program/scholarship. We have a list of scholarships already but realize it is a very small percentage of the overall opportunities available. We suspect that there are a great many scholarships that are available from programs that are never utilized because no one knows that they exist.

The goal is to get all of the scholarships in one place so that people in need have a single place to go to ascertain whether there is appropriate help available. This could be a family or perhaps an IECA member that is working pro Bono on behalf of a needy family. The key is that there is one reliable source both for a complete list of options and a procedure for mapping those needs with a solution. Saving Teens will then use our methodology and volunteer consultants to match the families with the scholarships.

Organizations offering scholarships are featured on our website as collaborators if the donating programs desire it but the list of scholarships will be only accessible to the educational consultants looking for help for a particular family. That way we will insure that we have kids placed in programs based on the "fit" rather than the scholarship.
