San Cristobal Academy (SCA) announced the recent addition of Larry Smith as the programs new residential director. This represents a homecoming of sorts for Larry as he previously served as San Cristobal's director for its Phase II Program.
Larry comes to his new role with over 30 years of experience in education serving in a wide variety of roles including: teacher, secondary school administrator, trainer, and curriculum/program consultant.
Larry is known nationally for his passion and dedication in the area of charter school development. He's worked tirelessly over the years to help disadvantaged and disenfranchised youth obtain high school diploma's, GED's and/or vocational training.
As SCA's residential director, Larry will provide senior leadership for all operational aspects of our residential programs. This includes management of new and existing residential programs, management of staff, facility upkeep, safety, and policies and procedures.
San Cristobal Academyis a continuing care program and transitional learning center for young men, 17-25 years of age, where students participate in classroom academics and field-based experiential education. SCA's mission is to offer an enriched therapeutic learning environment in which young men struggling with addiction, self-esteem issues, anger, depression, and school failure can improve their minds, bodies and spirits.
