San Cristobal Academy (SCA) is very pleased to announce that Marty Ferrero has joined our Academy as the Director of Recovery and Residential Services. In his new role, Marty will provide leadership for all aspects of SCA's chemical dependency and residential programs.

Marty brings a wealth of recovery experience and training from eleven years at the Hazelden Foundation in Recovery Services, both in Minnesota and more recently at Hazelden Springbrook in Oregon where he served as Clinical Supervisor of both the intensive residential and extended care men's treatment programs.

"We are elated that Marty has elected to join our team. It's our mission to bring our students and families the best recovery and treatment resources available for young adult men struggling to overcome drug, alcohol and behavioral-psychiatric issues" says Dave Johnson, CEO, San Cristobal Academy.

Marty holds a master's degree in addiction counseling from the Hazelden Graduate School and a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Massachusetts. Other important professional credentials include certification and licensure as both a chemical dependency counselor and teacher at the secondary level.

San Cristobal Academy is a dual diagnosis treatment program designed to meet the needs of young adult men (17-26) suffering from substance abuse and/or a co-occurring disorder. SCA utilizes an evidence based curriculum designed using a 3-phase, step-down methodology, where each phase builds on the progress and success of the preceding phase. Daily curriculum includes recovery work (AA/NA/CoDA), individual/group therapy, family therapy, education, and training and practice in adult living skills..
