Safe Journey Transport
Safe Journey is a new transport company headquartered in Provo, Utah. In addition to providing transport services for adolescents, they also maintain a database of adolescent service providers so they can refer families to the right resources when needed. The company maintains working relationships with many of these resources. They also maintain a Runaway Location service.
Requirements for being employed by the company include: “At least one year experience working with troubled adolescents; a clean background with no criminal convictions; a clean driving record; a drug-free lifestyle, verified by a pre-employment drug screening; [and] current non-violent physical intervention training.” Each new staff member also is required to complete “an intensive 90-day training period….” which includes “crisis intervention and in-depth information about common adolescent disorders and illnesses.” Their stated commitment to adolescents is “The adolescents we serve will receive the honesty, compassion and respect a young person looks for and needs in a friend.”
