SUWS of the Carolinas, a therapeutic wilderness program with a focus on clinical intervention and assessment, is pleased to announce a new addition to our clinical team. Trysh Huntington, M.A., LMFT has joined us as the lead clinician for our Seasons adolescent program for 10 - 13 year olds. Tyrsh comes to us with an extensive background in program management and expressive arts therapy. She has been working in outdoor programming for over thirteen years and is well grounded in experiential education and systems theory. She has a strong belief that the wilderness encourages individuals to accept that they are far more capable than they initially believed.
We would also like to let everyone know that Kelly Moore, LPC will be moving into the role of lead clinician for our adolescent girl's group. Kelly has been with SUWS of the Carolinas for over 3 years with the Seasons' program. She is a National Certified Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. She has a lot of experience working with trauma in many different situations. She has lived and worked in an orphanage in Peru and provided art therapy for those living within the orphanage. She has also provided art therapy work with children and elderly in the Galapagos Islands and with children rescued from the sex slave industry in Bangkok Thailand. She has led grief groups for Suicide Survivors and other bereavement groups.
We take great pride in the clinical expertise we have here at the SUWS of the Carolinas and look forward to building upon our history of excellence in wilderness therapy.
