SavingTeens Hires First
Executive Director

Saving Teens in Crisis Collaborative (SavingTeens) announced the appointment of Carrie Weatherhead, LCSW, as its first Executive Director. Ms. Weatherhead, formerly the Director of Development for SavingTeens, brings a strong leadership record with charitable organizations.

Prior to joining SavingTeens in 2013, Weatherhead held leadership positions at Steps to Success in Brookline, MA, and MyTurn in Brockton, MA. She is a graduate of Clark University and Boston University School of Social Work.

"Our promotion of Carrie to the role of full-time Executive Director represents two important milestones for SavingTeens" stated John Reuben, Founder and President. "First, it recognizes Carrie's accomplishments in her prior part time role as Director of Development. Secondly, it recognizes SavingTeens growth and maturity can now benefit from full time professional management in our efforts to help more and more families" Reuben concluded.

Following the implementation of improved procedures in early 2015, SavingTeens has coordinated full or partial scholarships for six new families. Support most frequently includes a combination of pro-bono educational consultant guidance, scholarships or discounts from schools or programs, direct funding from SavingTeens, and family participation financially. The collaborative effort allows families that might otherwise be unable to access to appropriate interventions successfully navigate the challenges of struggling adolescents. Families benefiting from SavingTeens support routinely describe our collaborative efforts as heroic.

Saving Teens In Crisis Collaborative is a philanthropic orgnaization formed in April 2004 to assist troubled teens & their families struggling with significant emotional & behavioral challenges including anxiety, depressions, addictions & other risky behaviors. Working in close collaboration with the therapeutic community, SavingTeens provides financial & other support to families of teens in crisis.
