Author, speaker, and coach Ruben Jimenez (LCSW) has launched a new website at
www.RubenJimenez.com focused on helping parents with teens or young adults returning home from therapeutic treatment. The website is the home of the forthcoming book, The Road Home: A Guide for Parents with Kids Returning from Treatment. It also features Jimenez's blog, event calendar, and information on upcoming workshop expeditions for parents and their children.
"It's been an incredible journey bringing all this material together. I believe the website, the book, and the workshops will address a critical gap in care that often occurs in the transition from life in a treatment program to life back at home. It's time of stress, anxiety, fear, and other difficult emotions-both for kids and their parents. My goal is to help parents navigate this period so that the gains their children have made in treatment can not only stick but continue to grow at home," said Jimenez.
The first two chapters of Jimenez's book The Road Home are available for free download on the new website. There is also information on the upcoming expeditions led by Jimenez, "Coming Home Family Transition Workshop: Canoeing Adventure on the Green River," with dates currently set for September 26 - October 1 and October 16 - October 21. A trip for young adults struggling to launch from the nest is planned for January 13-27.
