Rosecrance Health Network is accepting patients for a new Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program for youth between the ages of 13 and 18 who need treatment for abuse of drugs or alcohol.

The new program, which opens on Monday, March 14, is designed to help teenagers develop skills to achieve abstinence from drugs and alcohol and sustain recovery. Convenient after-school hours allow families to get help for their children with minimal disruption to school schedules and daily activities.

This evidence-based program includes group and individual counseling for the teen, family counseling, access to psychiatric services when appropriate, relapse prevention strategies, life skills work, recovery principles, emotional coping skills and introduction to 12 Step groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.

Rosecrance offers free and confidential drug and alcohol evaluations at the Frankfort site. Participants in the new adolescent program receive routine Breathalyzer and urine drug screens.

Teens who successfully complete the intensive program may continue to participate in the Continuing Care Group at the same site. That group also will serve youth who have completed an inpatient treatment program at Rosecrance or another center, providing recovery support as they transition back to their homes and schools.

The new programs are offered in the Rosecrance satellite office at 206 Abbey Woods Court N, Suite 310B, in Frankfort.

Rosecrance has an 84-bed adolescent treatment center and a 97-bed adult treatment center in Rockford. Last year, more than 100 adolescents, and adults from Will County sought inpatient services at Rosecrance.
