After 10 years of providing child and adolescent mental health services in Brown Deer, Wis., Rogers Memorial Hospital is beginning a new era by adding even more specialized services for children, teens and adults, effective August 18.
"Rogers' number one goal is to provide immediate access to care for our patients. Adding even more programs and services is our way of responding to the demand for mental health and addiction services," said Patrick Hammer, MSA, president and chief executive officer of Rogers Behavioral Health System. "We already have established programming in Brown Deer, and we wanted to show we are committed to serving the Village and surrounding communities."
The location at 4555 W. Schroeder Drive is the first of three expansion phases in Brown Deer. The newly renovated 13,348-square-foot facility on three acres includes five treatment-based group rooms, seven consult rooms, a movement therapy and art therapy room, a dining area and a child and adolescent day treatment (CADT) play therapy and sensory room.
"The CADT program opened in July 2004. This one program has resulted in nearly 2,200 admissions," said Jessica Pitre, MAEd, MBA, clinical services manager. "With our new programs, we look forward to providing even more care. In addition to CADT, we're adding partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs for adolescents with internalizing disorders, children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and adults with anxiety and depression or addiction."
Coming later this fall, at the same location, will be an adult partial hospitalization program for dual diagnosis, a program treating individuals with both mental health and substance abuse, along with two dual diagnosis programs for adolescents. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT), or the use of medication to assist in addiction recovery, will be included in the adult partial program.
"Once the outpatient center is fully developed, Rogers looks forward to the grand opening of a new hospital in Brown Deer," said Hammer. "The new hospital is located directly across the street from the new outpatient center and will offer 56 inpatient beds for children, teens and adults."
Scheduled to open in 2015, the Brown Deer hospital will become Rogers' third acute care hospital campus in southeastern Wisconsin.
Rogers Behavioral Health System consists of five key corporations: Rogers Memorial Hospital; Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation, Inc.; Rogers Partners in Behavioral Health, LLC; Rogers Center for Research and Training; and Rogers InHealth. The hospital has become nationally recognized for its specialized residential treatment services and affiliations with academic institutions and teaching hospitals in the area. Rogers Memorial Hospital is currently Wisconsin's largest not-for-profit, private behavioral health hospital, providing adults, children and adolescents with depression and mood disorders treatment, eating disorders treatment, addiction treatment, obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders treatment, as well as caring for a variety of child and adolescent mental health concerns.
