Early registration deadline for this event is July 10, 2009. Cost: $150.00 or with early registration discount: $100.00.

This seminar reviews current knowledge about the etiology, assessment, case formulation, and treatment of excessive health anxiety, with a particular emphasis on hypochondriasis, one of the most clinically challenging forms of health anxiety

Cognitive-behavioral interventions and promising new approaches, such as motivational interviewing methods will be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity to develop a cognitive-behavioral case formulation and treatment plan and role-play from brief video clinical vignettes. Group participation is strongly encouraged. The seminar also includes research reviews and the opportunity to share clinical experiences in terms of treatment challenges and possible solutions. The material covered is appropriate for entry, intermediate, and advanced practitioners, but is primarily targeted at the latter two levels.
