Roger Luhn, MD, was recently appointed medical director for Rogers Memorial Hospital - Brown Deer, which is slated to open next spring. His responsibilities will be to oversee the hospital's day-to-day operations, lead all aspects of its programs and work with the administrative and psychiatric staff to assure the best care for patients and their families.

A board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, Dr. Luhn is currently a full-time member of Rogers' medical staff and treats patients in the Adolescent Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital - Oconomowoc. In his new role as medical director, he will ensure that operations run smoothly at Rogers' third acute care hospital in Brown Deer.

"I am looking forward to working with the Brown Deer and Milwaukee communities to create a new center of excellent patient care. We're ready to provide our specialized mental health treatment, while at the same time developing our own unique identity within the Rogers system," Dr. Luhn said. "I enjoy working toward a common goal and welcome the chance to do so in Brown Deer."

Dr. Luhn is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has directed inpatient, outpatient and residential programs. Prior to joining Rogers in 2003, he practiced at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison and served as medical director at the Mercy Cooperative Childcare Institute in Janesville. In addition to patient care responsibilities at Rogers, Dr. Luhn has served as the chief of physician services and has been part of the credentialing and peer review committees.

A Whitworth College (Wash.) graduate, Dr. Luhn earned his medical degree at the University of California (San Diego) and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Rogers Behavioral Health System consists of five key corporations: Rogers Memorial Hospital; Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation, Inc.; Rogers Partners in Behavioral Health, LLC; Rogers Center for Research and Training; and Rogers InHealth. The hospital has become nationally recognized for its specialized residential treatment services and affiliations with academic institutions and teaching hospitals in the area. Rogers Memorial Hospital is currently Wisconsin's largest not-for-profit, private behavioral health hospital, providing adults, children and adolescents with depression and mood disorders treatment, eating disorders treatment, addiction treatment, obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders treatment, as well as caring for a variety of child and adolescent mental health concerns.
