Founded in 1995, Rocky Mountain Life Ranch was established “to provide a Christian family-style home based program for troubled teenage boys and girls, 13-18 years of age.” Craig is an experienced licensed social worker, and Trish “has 28 years of teaching specialized education to meet the individual student’s needs.”
The program “encompasses the spiritual, mental, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional areas, with the spiritual permeating all areas.” Their objective is to help develop a “balanced individual… through mentoring and individual and peer group counseling and support.” Some of the personal characteristics they work to develop in each student are “obedience, respect for authority, responsibility, high moral values, respect for others and self.”
The Ranch “is near the River of No Return, surrounded by mountains, where we enjoy wildlife, recreation and an abundance of God’s beauty. The small town atmosphere is refreshing and provides an opportunity to allow troubled teens to heal in its tranquility.”
The Ranch operates year-round, with a minimum stay of 12 months, but some students may need to stay up to 18 months to 2 years or even longer.
