Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital welcomes Derry Brinley, M.D. as Associate Medical Director and Director of Child and Adolescent Services. Dr. Brinley specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults and their families. Dr. Brinley finished a dual residency in family practice and general psychiatry. He then completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. The combination of his medical and psychiatric training provides a holistic approach to treating children and adolescents.

When asked what he enjoys most about working with children and adolescents for the past 22 years he said, "I like the energy of the kids; they are fun to work with." He also indicated, "The earlier we can intervene, the better the outcome especially with family participation." Dr. Brinley firmly believes in residential treatment and enjoys his role of stabilizing adolescents and referring to residential services as appropriate.

When Dr. Brinley is not taking care of children and adolescents professionally he enjoys fishing, the outdoors, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and three and a half grandchildren (one grandchild on the way). Please join with me in welcoming Dr. Brinley to Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital.

Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital serves individuals in need of psychiatric and addiction recovery treatment. The range of services includes acute inpatient care, partial hospitalization, residential care, and outpatient services.
