After years as a primary therapist with SUWS of the Carolinas Lynn Wadsworth, MS, LPC has taken on the role of Program Manager for Phoenix Outdoor the substance abuse track of SUWS. Lynn's 25 years of experience working with teens and families struggling with substance abuse use and co-occurring mental health issues made this transition to continue the development of the dual-diagnosis program a natural fit.
While all of the students at Phoenix have had issues with drug and/or alcohol use and abuse, they are often driven to these behaviors from underlying and or undiagnosed mental health conditions. Lynn's passion is reaching the entire family system to promote sustained, long-term recovery.
In striving to make Phoenix the premier wilderness program for dual diagnosis issues in adolescents, Lynn is able to utilize her years of practice in the development of a multi-model approach. The integration of a Family Systems Approach, 12-step, relapse prevention skills, and mindfulness practices has allowed Phoenix to transcend traditional barriers to recovery.
