Pasadena Villa's Smoky Mountain Lodge is proud to have three very talented Animal Care Specialists: Jason Spade, Malinda Whillock, and Thomas Donoghue to provide our residents with active treatment experiences that are real life, real time, and relevant within the stables and in our onsite group activities building.
With breathtaking views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and spectacular onsite formal gardens, this mental health wellness resort is an awe-inspiring facility nestled on a peaceful mountainside. Along with nearby Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Knoxville, we provide recreational, wilderness, educational, cultural and activity options. The lodge offers 29 private bedrooms with queen size beds and private baths, large activity and exercise rooms, and captivating views.
Our psychotherapists, recreational therapists and our experienced animal care professionals work together as a therapeutic team with our residents and the animals. This team approach, along with the residents bond with the animal, provides a very unique and relaxing therapeutic environment.
We proudly offer a wide range of activities held in our newly expanded all-weather therapy areas, our round pen, arena and our farmhouse. These individualized experiential therapeutic activities provide an opportunity for our residents to reduce stress, connect with an animal and to give and receive affection.
The Stables at Smoky Mountain Lodge are situated on a beautiful 80 acre farm setting in a serene environment of rolling hills and pastures. Our Equine and Animal Therapy program uses therapy animals to enhance our resident's physical, emotional and social well-being; improving self-esteem, reducing anxiety and facilitating healing.
We provide a range of therapy animals including five horses (two Tennessee Walkers, and three American Paints, two miniature horses, miniature English heritage sheep, miniature African dairy goats, and even exotic rabbits.
The emotional connection between the animals and residents involved can be extraordinarily powerful, nurturing and healing, and becomes a key component of our compassionate care.
Social, recreational, cultural and life skills activities within the community form a core component of our treatment programs, which are designed to enhance the skills necessary to rebuild relationships with family and friends, and to prepare our Residents for their journey after leaving our services.
If any of us can ever be of any service, please let us know. Admissions can be reached at 877-845-5235 or

Sincerely,
Chris
