Pacific Quest is excited to present at the First Annual Young Adult Transition Association (YATA) conference in Boulder, Colorado. The inaugural conference entitled "Working Together for Young Adults" will be held at the University of Colorado Boulder on September 4-6, 2014.

On Friday, September 5th, Pacific Quest's Clinical Director, Lorraine Freedle, PhD, CST-T and Maile Greene, ND, LAc, RN, will be presenting "From Addiction to Authentic Living: An Integrative, Neurodevelopmental Approach to Helping Young Adults Find Meaning and Purpose".

As, more and more young adults in America find themselves anxious, depressed and addicted, helping them move toward an authentic life is essential. In understanding how to effectively midwife their journey toward an authentic life we will consider the physiological impact of stress, the young adult developing brain, and the value of meaning and purpose.

Pacific Quest applies an integrative, neuro-developmental treatment approach toward affecting this shift, which includes five therapeutic components: Wellness, Horticultural Therapy, Experiential Education, Rites of Passage, and Evidence-Based Clinical Practice. Participants in this workshop will explore Pacific Quest's integrative approach through didactic and experiential methods. Furthermore, several case studies will illustrate how these modalities blend and compliment, creating an effective, integrative treatment and allowing young adults to move from addiction to authentic living.

Dr. Lorraine R. Freedle is a board certified pediatric and school neuropsychologist with training in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics™. Dr. Freedle is also a teaching member of STA/ISST. With over 25 years of experience in children's behavioral health, she is currently the Clinical Director at Pacific Quest.

Dr. Maile Green is a specialist in integrative medicine as a board certified Naturopathic Physician, Acupuncturist and Registered Nurse. She is currently a Wellness Program Physician at Pacific Quest.

YATA's mission is to "promote young adult residential transitional schools and programs that support issues and practices of common interests and enhance the quality of care of the young adults and their families."
