Pacific Quest is pleased to partner with one of the best family therapists in the nation. Jen Murphy, MEd, LPC will offer Parent Coaching Services for families in need of individualized parent support, coaching and counseling services.

Pacific Quest recognizes the importance of family systems and dynamics in successfully treating adolescent and young adult clients. The Pacific Quest team is now proud to offer Parent Coaching for families in need of more individualized parent support, coaching and counseling. Parents who elect coaching services, are provided weekly sessions with an experienced, licensed therapist to help address their goals and needs as parents and within the family system. Parent Coaches will work closely with the child's Pacific Quest clinician and will consistently provide families with direct, clear and compassionate support while ensuring the highest level of continuity of care for the family.

Pacific Quest is thrilled to partner with long-time wilderness therapist and Parent Coach, Jen Murphy, LPC who will lead a team of therapists offering these comprehensive coaching services to families.

After completing her Masters and post-graduate work from Xavier University in 1998, Jen embarked on an extensive and highly successful wilderness therapy career. Through wilderness therapy, Jen was able to find the perfect avenue to unite her respect and appreciation for the power of the outdoors with her passion for working with adolescents and their families. Jen has served as a Primary Therapist and Assistant Clinical Director for two, well-known outdoor therapeutic programs, pioneering many of the techniques and approaches now widely used in contemporary outdoor therapeutic programming.

While her clinical experience is rich and varied, Jen is widely known and respected for her family systems work. She has worked alongside many adolescents and their families in the wilderness milieu and also developed one of the leading transition and parent coaching programs. As a Parent Coach, Jen Murphy will help create a setting where Pacific Quest parents can openly discuss their personal anxieties and concerns, as well as identify their own challenges in parenting. Jen will also help develop and create new strategies in parenting, co-parenting, healthy boundary setting and help to increase positive and productive communication to repair and strengthen the relationships within the family.

Pacific Quest understands the importance of helping parents effectively learn how to empower their children while being clear about their own personal and parental boundaries. When asked to comment on her new role, Jen stated, "I look forward to assisting parents to increase their skill and confidence in their parenting, improve and create depth in their relationships with their child and to provide assistance in translating the skills gained in treatment so that they may integrate them into their family systems and future environments. I look forward to doing my part to further enhance the unique Pacific Quest experience."

Jen Murphy can be reached at 801-554-5920 or jenmurphyscs@gmail.com.

Pacific Quest is an outdoor therapeutic program that helps students learn to make better choices and live healthy, productive lives. Programs include an Adolescent Program, Young Adult Program, family support and Education and Alumni Programs.
