Pacific Quest is proud to announce that Dr. Shelly Ham, psychiatrist, has joined our staff. Dr. Ham visits students in the field, and oversees all Adolescent and Young Adult students enrolled at Pacific Quest. Dr. Ham works closely with our Clinical and Wellness staff to evaluate the psychiatric needs and ensure safe and healthy treatment for our students.
Dr. Shelley Ham earned her BA from Rutgers University (Cook College). She went on to receive her MD from St. Louis University School of Medicine, and then worked as a Psychiatric Care Counselor for St. Joseph's Medical Center. Dr. Ham moved to Hawaii in 1996 and served as Community Psychiatrist, then Clinical Director for East Hawaii Community Mental Health Center. She also worked as a Psychiatrist for Helping Hands Hawaii, Children's Comprehensive Services and CareHawaii.
Since 2000, Dr. Ham also served as Examiner for Office of the Public Defender and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii and as worked for the university since 1996, as Chief Resident / Clinical Instructor and Assistant Professor. Dr. Ham is also currently Clinical Director and staff psychiatrist for The Phoenix Center, Inc. She has been the recipient of the Pfizer Resident of the Year Award, the Ginsberg Fellowship at The Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry and the Outstanding Clinical Professor, University of Hawai'i, John A. Burns School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.

Pacific Quest is an outdoor therapeutic program that helps students learn to make better choices and live healthy, productive lives. Programs include an Adolescent Program, Young Adult Program, family support and Education and Alumni Programs.
