Outward Bound Announced
Results From One-Year Study
On Student Outcomes

Outward Bound, the world's foremost experiential learning program, recently announced results from a one-year study on student outcomes related to Outward Bound's educational framework. The unprecedented results show an impressive degree of growth in student leadership, confidence, and commitment to service post-course. Results illustrate that Outward Bound's outdoor programs deliver on their mission to empower students to be a positive force for change in their world.

Among students who completed an Outward Bound course, 93 percent said they were more likely to accomplish their goals; 93 percent felt they were more likely to believe in their ability to succeed; and 80 percent were more likely to be a leader in their school or community. Students surveyed one year post-course reported the following results: 79 percent were more successful at school or work; 88 percent were more of a leader; and 93 percent believed more in their ability to succeed.

Justin, an Outward Bound scholarship recipient, said after his course, "I would like to say it made me superhuman, but it has done something so much better. It's brought me down to my basic self - my best self. I can go home now knowing for a fact that I can and will make a difference."
