It is with saddness, we inform you that educational consultant and former head of AFARY Nancy Masland's husband, Bill, passed away on Friday, May 8 after a long illness. He was 82.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Nancy Masland; his daughter, Ellie Wolcott and her husband, Peter; grandchildren, Elisa and Clara Wolcott and James Masland; his brother, James G. Masland, Jr; and cousins and nieces from Omaha, Philadelphia and Arizona.
Born in Philadelphia, he attended William Penn Charter School, Haverford College and University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He inspired and mentored students and family members.
As a neurologist and pain specialist, he worked in Yuma and Tucson, as well as contributed his time to volunteering.
His intelligence, humor, sound advice, love of reading and collecting, awed others. Bill was a Renaissance man, who said he had ' a good run' and is missed.
A private memorial service will be held May 17.
Nancy would welcome your loving thoughts. She may be reached by email:
