Many of you may have already heard our recent announcement but for those who have not, we have some news to share. After eight years as a tenant at our current property, the landlord has without warning terminated our lease, with just 6 weeks' notice.

Initially, the news was devastating to us but on reflection, we have decided this change is a blessing. We were already at capacity in the current location and this move will allow us to continue to grow the program, in ways we couldn't have by staying here. The property we have decided upon, The Meadows Asheville, has two swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball court, work-out room, and a 9-hole frisbee disk golf course... we sure are happy that the guys can move about and be active this summer, and so are they! We think it's perfect! We will have a cluster of 3- and 2-bedroom apartments in the same building, each with a porch, plenty of storage and looking over communal green areas. The property is located just 10 min. from where we are now and is on an active bus line. We will also have our own office on-site and continue to have active staff in three shifts just as we do now, including onsite staff who will live in the same complex. Meanwhile, the Next Step program itself will not change - only the location - staffing, the level of support, structure, classes, and all of the facets that differentiate our program will carry on unhindered.

We are very fortunate to have a great number of supportive networks and community collaborators that understand the subtle dynamics of this situation, and are dedicated to proactively helping us every step of the way. Regardless, we still need help! We need to raise immediate funds to help us relocate... it's not a simple matter to move 32 residents plus staff members. It's going to take planning, logistics, patience, and resources. If you can, please help us with any amount by donating through our website: www.nextsteprecovery.com.

I thank everyone in advance for their understanding and patience through this time. We are all committed to making this as smooth as possible. I am also happy to answer any questions or concerns, so please feel free to call or email me.
