Greg Kersten, founder of EAGALA and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy will join Newport Academy Equine Therapist Mickey Troxell for a very special 3-day Equine Assisted Psychotherapy training at Newport Academy October 14-16, 2010.
As the Founder of the field of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Greg Kersten has set the standard in teaching his techniques for working with horses to help humans. Greg Kersten coined the term "Equine Assisted Psychotherapy" to describe both the exercises he had created to work with at-risk youth and correctional inmates as well as the philosophy behind the exercises. Since 1991, he has traveled the globe to instruct other professionals, and many of these have gone on to create their own "sects" or "models" of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and have even taught variations of Greg Kersten's "Signature Exercises." Mr. Kersten continues to teach the authentic EAP as he always intended it, as well as equine-assisted learning for non-therapeutic applications.
