Adam Eader, NVW Associate Director and Admissions Counselor, wins NATSAP Midwest Excellence in Service Award.
Adam came to New Vision Wilderness a fresh, mid-20's adventurer as one of NVW's earliest field staff in 2008. With his background of running dog sledding expeditions with at risk kids in the north woods of Minnesota we figured he could handle the tough job. Little did we know that we were hiring one of the strongest and most committed individuals we would ever have on our team. Adam is NVWs longest term employee to date.
Adam's commitment to NVW's youth and families comes from his heart. We have witnessed him deploying successful interventions consistently during the day then staying up through the night, alongside a teen he is working with, in an attempt to save one more kid from self-destruction.
As Adam crossed into the challenges of management at NVW, he has worn many hats. Adam was NVWs first field director mentoring staff and developing programs, laid the foundation for NVW's Educational Academy, launched adventure education, established risk management practices specific to the NVW program, and approaches his current positon as Associate Director/Admissions Counselor with passion. He transitioned flawlessly - giving up his thick beard and wool pants for collared pressed shirts, spreading the news about NVW's approach to wilderness therapy.
Adam never stops looking forward - all in an effort to save another kid's life. We admire his stern but loving tone with kids as he guides them in the direction they need to go. To Adam - from the NVW family, thank you for your incredible heart and excellent work in the healing journey.
New Vision Wilderness (NVW) is a wilderness therapy program specializing in intervention services for struggling teens and young adults. NVW offers programs in Wisconsin and Oregon.
