As New Lifestyles continues to grow and evolve, we bid a fond farewell to Dr. Matthew Bruffey, and announce with great excitement, the arrival of Dr. Janice Furst as Clinical Director of Admissions.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Matthew Bruffey who will be leaving New Lifestyles in August to open a private practice in Winchester, VA. Dr. Bruffey's steadfast determination, extensive knowledge, clinical acumen, and exceptional patience with even the most resistant clients have modeled the highest standard of care to which New Lifestyles aspires. We thank him most sincerely for his 9 years of exemplary service.
Joining us as Clinical Director of Admissions, Dr. Janice Furst comes to us with nearly 25 years as a licensed psychologist. She received a Bachelor's degree from UCLA, a Master's degree in Organizational Behavior and both a Master's and Doctoral degree in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed specialized training with adolescents and young adults as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Furst has held faculty appointments at Johns Hopkins University, both in the School of Medicine and Department of Counseling. She served in a variety of positions within the Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital System, including as Senior Psychologist. Additionally, Dr. Furst has over 20 years experience in consulting to various teams and entities within the National Football League. She has worked directly with professional athletes and organizations and has served as an international consultant to various sports programs, including Olympic athletes in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Furst will be responsible for the initial assessment and treatment plan creation for new and potential clients. Dr. Bruffey will continue to provide supervision for the clinical team, therapy for his assigned clients, and leadership for various groups through the process of transition.
